Junior IT Support and .Net Developer

We are looking for a junior IT support person who has experience as a .Net developer.  You will help make changes to our digital work environment in support of new IT tools implementation. You will also assist with developing existing proprietary .Net applications.  In this role, you should be able to write functional code with a sharp eye for spotting defects.

You should be a team player and excellent communicator. If you are also passionate about the .NET framework and software design/architecture, we’d like to meet you. Your goal will be to work with internal teams to design, develop and maintain software

Duties

  • Participate in requirements analysis
  • Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture
  • Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages
  • Test and deploy applications and systems
  • Revise, update, refactor and debug code
  • Improve existing software
  • Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support
  • Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration
  • Refer to internal database or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience as a .NET Developer or Application Developer
  • Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role
  • Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC))
  • Knowledge of at least one of the .NET languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .NET) and HTML5/CSS3
  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Attention to detail
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Compensation

Compensation is dependent on the level of experience, natural aptitude and initiative that you bring to the team.
